Recently renovated and tastefully decorated and furnished,
Holmdale offers quality Exmoor accommodation. Rooms have colour TV's,
hospitality trays, maps and local information on walks, rides, good
eating haunts and local places of interest. With our personal knowledge
of the moors and surrounding area, we can help you plan your walking,
mountain biking or riding routes across the most beautiful parts of the moor.
A hearty breakfast of local, 'free range' produce
is served in the dining conservatory overlooking the gardens and valley beyond.

centrally located Exford being of no exception to this, you can leave your car securely
parked in our private driveway and start exploring Exmoor from our doorstep, with
many circular routes starting from here including Dunkery
beacon which is the highest point on Exmoor
with its magnificent views across the Bristol Channel to Wales and south to Dartmoor. |

can be taken from the village. There is horse riding available
at local stables for some of the most scenic rides in the British
Isles.
Whatever way you choose to explore Exmoor, you will not be far
from the roaming herds of wild red deer and the ancient breed
of wild Exmoor ponies. |

| Exmoor is the ideal place to have a holiday, there really is so much to see and do whatever your age or interests, or just relax amidst the lovely scenery.
Visit the ancient stone ‘Tarr
Steps' on the river Barle, just ten minutes drive from here and take a lovely circular walk up the wooded river valley before an excellent cream tea at Tarr
Farm Inn. Kayaking is another option along the river Barle, or Wimbalball
lake where they may be hired.
There are many picturesque and interesting villages, some with galleries and gift shops to explore not far from here. Dulverton with its medieval bridge, Porlock and the quaint harbour of Porlock
Weir, the thatched cottages of Selworthy, Allerford and Bossington, the medieval village of Dunster with it's 11 th century yarn market, it's watermill and of course the famous Dunster
Castle, to name but a few, each with their own unique features.
Visit the national trust houses and gardens such as Arlington
Court in North Devon and Knighthayes
Court.

Being just six miles from the Devon
border, North Devon and its wealth of attractions is not far
from here either, like the renowned RHS gardens at Rosemoor and
the surfing beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde,
not to mention Lynton, Lynmouth,
the enchanting ‘valley of the rocks' and ‘Lorna Doone' country,
based on the novel by R.D. Blackmoor.
Buzzards, kestrels, sparrow hawks, kingfishers, winchats and a host of other
wild life can be seen on your Exmoor holiday be you a keen bird
watcher, nature lover, rambler or walker.
Fly fishing for wild brown trout, grayling and salmon is available on the local
rivers and tuition is offered on the river Exe, here at Exford.
There are sea fishing boat trips available from Minehead harbour
and boat trips down the coast on the Waverley. |
